Johnny Depp in talks for Jack Sparrow return in Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

Jerry Bruckheimer says discussions are underway with Johnny Depp about potentially returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

“We’re working on a screenplay and hopefully we can get this done.” (via Deadline).

Depp has not officially been confirmed for the film, but Bruckheimer revealed that conversations about his possible return are taking place as development on the next installment continues.

The last Pirates of the Caribbean, 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales, was the lowest grossing in the franchise with $795.9M worldwide. Through five movies, the rich Disney live-action franchise has minted $4.5 billion at the global box office.
