‘The Dark Knight’ Was the First Comic Book Movie to Earn Over $1 Billion Worldwide

Did you know... Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight (2008), starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, broke a serious record?

It became the first-ever comic book movie adaptation to reach $1 billion at the worldwide box office, and changed the course of the genre forever.

Since them, various comic book movies have hit that target, but it's safe to say Nolan's Batman trilogy got more people interested.
