TetraScience raises US $80M in Series B

TetraScience, a Boston-based company developing what it describes as an open R&D data cloud for scientific discovery, raised $80 million in a Series B round led by Insight Partners and Alkeon Capital.

Palo Alto-based Medable, developer of a platform for patient-generated data used in clinical research, announced $78 million in new funding led by Sapphire Ventures.

Shares of cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase closed at $328 in first-day trading, giving the company a market value of nearly $86 billion. The closing price was 31 percent above the reference price of $250 set for the company’s market debut via direct listing.

Smart home energy tech startup dcbel raised $40 million in funding from investors including Coatue Management, Real Ventures, WTI and Narrative Fund. The financing comes as the Montreal-based company rolls out its flagship product: An appliance that uses AI to learn energy habits and allocate power in a home.

Canada-based Milk Moovement, a startup applying technology to the dairy industry to ensure milk gets into the right cups at the right time, closed on $3.1 million in a seed round led by Dynamo Ventures.

Compliance software developer Encamp pulled in $12 million in a Series B round led by OpenView. The financing follows a big year for the Indianapolis company, which grew 800 percent in 2020.
