Apple : In-app purchases will be expensive
Technology News : Apple has increased app store prices in five other countries including India, such as Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Russia and South Africa. These new prices may apply in the next few days, after which apps and in-app purchases from the App Store will have to pay a higher price.
To reflect the new prices of the apps, the company has provided an updated price chart to the developers. The price increase will be shown in the Price and Availability section of My Apps on the Apple Developer Portal.
According to the announcement made through the Apple Developer website, the increase in the prices of the App Store will be equal to two percent in addition to the existing Goods and Service Tax, which was currently 18 percent for India.
In addition to India, the revised Apple App Store prices in Indonesia include a 10 percent value-added-tax effect for developers located outside the country.
Apple gives clarification on the increase :
The company reported that, "When tax or foreign exchange rate changes, we sometimes need to update prices on the App Store."
Developers have been provided with updated price charts to show their particular application prices have increased. These changes will be reflected in the Price and Availability section on the Apple Developer Portal. Apple also stated that developers' income will be calculated based on the tax-exclusive price.
You can change the price of your app and in-app purchases (including auto-renewable subscriptions) at any time in the App Store Connect. If you offer a subscription, you can reserve prices for existing customers.
