US market opens with decline
Business : The US market opened with a fall on Thursday. The Dow Jones closed down 224 points, down 0.96 percent. Nasdaq slipped 0.78 percent to 69 points and S&P fell 0.98 percent to 27 points. The Dow Jones was trading at 23023, Nasdaq 8793 and S&P 2792 points at market opening.
On Thursday, all markets around the world fell. Canada's S&P TSX closed down 50 points and Mexico's IPC 1068 points down.
Japan's Nikkei closed down by 352 points, China's Shanghai Composite by 27 points, Hong Kong's Hang Sang 350 points, India's Nifty 240 points and South Korea's Kospi by 15 points. France's CAC 40, Russia's MICEX, Russia's FTSE MIB and Germany's DAX are also trading in the downturn.
The Dow Jones closed 2.17 percent or 516 points down at 23248 on Wednesday. Nasdaq was down by 1.55 per cent or 139 points at 8863 points and the S&P was down 1.75 per cent or 50 points at 2820 points.
