Marvel Studios has delayed 'Avengers: Doomsday' from May 5, 2026, to December 18, 2026.
It’s probably because they can totally throw in 2 more movies before Secret Wars in May and July 2027. Probably Shang-Chi 2 and Doctor Strange 3.
We’re talking about a massive Avengers movie…a real Avengers movie. They could drop this movie whenever they want to. This date move ain’t about money. I think it’s just to give them more time to make it perfect. And that’s totally fine. Take more time and make it perfect.
They realize these movies have to be near perfect to right the ship of the franchise basically. Plus, how many years have we heard about special effects people being rushed? I'm sure the extra time is to perfect special effects and not rush this very important entry.
It's not a matter of filming being the issue. It's often post-production and editing, especially when it comes to graphics, to have more polish. You will often need more time. And the more time the artists in post-production have, the more polished it will be.
