Future Web Design: Cool Stuff Coming in 2024

Brace yourself for the future of web design in 2024. Cool stuff coming. AI tools and eye-popping visuals. The scrapbook and the vibrant gradients are two styles I am kind of into. The others I like especially the larger typography. The typography one will last a bit longer because it seems like it takes its inspiration from cool print layouts that have stood the test of time.

See what’s hot and how these features can transform your website into a future-proof masterpiece.

My main issue with every trend is that they treat mobile as an after thought when it comes to creativity. Most of the Uniqueness of these websites is the Desktop version. I can’t wait till we get a very mobile centric design evolution. Cuz that is the biggest piece of the pie.

I love gradients and bento grid! The large text is a nice idea. Hm, I’d love to see statistics if ai-generated imagery is taking over stock photos. Obviously cannot at this point but could make a big dent. Another one that is going to be popular is 3D on scroll websites, especially when we are able to load pages faster with them.

I have been very happy to work with the desktop as a focus and design area. You can work with all the creativity. But since some years I am forced to set the smaller screens in focus and it’s hard and limited. But lately I have started to get inspiration from converting big sites into smaller simplified sites. The work has got a more edge.

The struggle is that mobile is so limited by space. Desktop is the only viewport where designers and developers can express themselves. Then for mobile responsiveness they simplify everything. So I guess why these trends mostly show on desktop.

I don’t have to be afraid to use somewhat big text. As long as the layout is simple and not too complex I guess big text is a + since it’s easy to see and understand what’s going on.
