Companies like Maruti, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota have seen a decline in sales. Tata Motors has received positive sales response in January 2022. Now Tata Motors has come third in the list of top manufacturing companies in the country. Maruti Suzuki said in a statement that, in January this year, the company's domestic sales declined by 8% to 1,36,442 units. There were 1,48,307 units in the same month a year ago. The lack of electronic devices has had a major impact on the sales of vehicles in the domestic market. Tata Motors sold 59,866 units of vehicles in January 2021.

Its domestic market sales grew by 26% year-on-year to 72,485 units in January 2022. The company sold a total of 40,777 units of passenger vehicles in this January, as against 26,978 units sold during January, 2021. Tata Motors' sales of electric vehicles grew five times to 2,892 units in January. The company sold 514 electric vehicles in January 2021. Mahindra's total auto sales in January 2022 stood at 46,804 vehicles. In the utility vehicle segment, Mahindra sold 19,848 vehicles in January 2022.

Talking about passenger vehicles, the company sold 19,964 vehicles in the domestic market in January 2022, and 2,861 vehicles were exported. In commercial vehicles, Mahindra has sold 21,111 vehicles in January 2022 with a growth of 58%. Hyundai Motor India's total sales declined by 11.11% to 53,427 units in January 2022. In January 2021, the company sold 60,105 vehicles. Apart from this, the company's exports increased to 9,405 units in January 2022. In January 2021, 8,100 units were exported. Toyota sold a total of 7,328 units in India in January 2022. In January 2021, Toyota had achieved sales figures of 11,126 units, and has registered a decline of up to 34% in its annual sales.

Toyota says that the joint venture with Maruti has benefited it immensely and its models like Glanza and Urban Cruiser are getting good response from the market. Toyota will also launch a new mid-size SUV in collaboration with Maruti, which will hit the market by the festival season this year. Toyota will also launch a new C segment MPV and the Belta, a rebadged model of the Maruti Ciaz. MG Motors has sold 4,306 units of cars in January 2022 with an annual growth of 19.54%. In January 2021, MG had received sales figures of 3,602 units.

MG has also got 72.45% growth in monthly sales. MG's Gloster and Hector are getting decent sales figures here and the company has sold 4,000 units of the ZS EV that was launched two years back. Like every month, Honda's car sales continue to decline. The company is now selling limited cars here, which is affecting its sales. Honda sold a total of 10,427 cars in the Indian market in January 2022. In the same month last year, Honda had got the sales figure of 11,319 units. The company has registered a decline of 7.88% in annual sales. However, Honda's monthly growth has definitely increased by 30% this time.

Kia is going to launch its new MPV car in India very soon. The company believes that its sales can get more boost from the Karens MPV. Recently, Kia has got a 1.4% annual sales boost in January 2022 and the company has sold 19,319 units of cars. Seltos had the largest share in the company's sales, where 11,483 units of this SUV were sold in the market last month. Seltos also managed to make its place in the list of top 10 cars of January 2022.

Kia has received 7,738 bookings for the upcoming Carens MPV within 24 hours. Skoda sold 3,009 units of cars in January 2022, compared to 1,004 units in January 2021. In this way the annual sales of the company has increased by 200%. The Kushak SUV, which was launched in July 2021, plays a big role in Skoda's sales growth. Apart from this, the company will also launch the Slavia mid-size sedan in the market shortly.
