TravelPerk gets US $160M in Series D, Ergatta $30 million

Business : Business travel platform TravelPerk has raised $160 million in equity and debt funding after a tough year for the travel industry as a whole. Greyhound Capital led the financing for the 6-year-old startup, which lets companies book and manage travel with flexible scheduling.

Connected fitness startup Ergatta, which offers a rowing machine and proprietary digital content to go with it, pulled in $30 million in Series A funding led by Advance Venture Partners. The New York-based company expects future growth to be 5x year over year.

Kaia Health, a provider of virtual physical therapy, raised $75 million in a Series C round led by an unnamed investor which was joined by existing backers. The New York-based startup saw 600 percent growth for its offering around musculoskeletal conditions, as telehealth demand surged amid the pandemic.

A Biden administration plan to spend $100 billion for broader broadband access could be a boon for agtech VCs and startups. Ag-focused investors see potential to open up the rural U.S. to more connected and edge devices, easing the way for harvesting robots, upgraded supply chain monitoring, and a host of other technologies.

Food services company Compass Group USA has acquired EAT Club, a corporate food-delivery technology platform, for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 2010, Redwood City, California-based EAT Club previously raised $46.5 million in known venture funding.

India-based food delivery service Zomato has filed to raise up to $1.1 billion in an initial public offering of shares to list on Indian stock exchanges NSE and BSE. In other news, San Diego-based Boundless Bio, a precision oncology company, raised $105 million in a Series B financing.
