Intel : Awesome Facial Recognition System with RealSense ID

Technology : Intel has introduced Facial Recognition System with RealSense ID. It will recognize the user's face and unlock the smart devices immediately.

Active depth sensors have been used in this technique. The company claims that this technology will not make a mistake in identifying the user's face. It is completely safe and accurate.

This Face ID system will work with many devices. With this, you will be able to access many things like smart lock, ATM, gate control. It will be sold in many countries including India.

The technology, owned by Intel are used in autonomous drones, robots, AR/VR, smart home devices amongst many others broad market products.

What is Facial Recognition System?

It is a biometric system that identifies a person by the combination of their face, eyes, mouth. In this, all the elements of the face, especially the eyes and mouth, are read.

The 3D image of the face is then created for identification and saved in the database. This technique was invented by the team of American scientists. It included Woody Bledsoe, Helen Chan Wolf and Charles Bison.

RealSense Price and Availability

The price of Intel RealSense ID F455 peripheral will be $ 99 (about Rs 7300). Intel RealSense ID F450 module will be available in 10-pack. It will cost $ 750 (about 55,100 rupees). The company will ship credit card size products to India and other countries.

RealSense ID Features

Intel RealSense ID uses two camera lenses and sensors. They capture the face to the depth. According to Intel, there is a risk of theft of user ID by traditional authentication methods.

This is the reason, companies and people are now adopting face authentication technology.

In this technique, things cannot be unlocked with the help of photos, videos or masks. For this, the company has used anti-spoofing technology. It can consider any one face in 10 lakhs as the main face.

The company has said that it also adopts changes that occur in the user's face from time to time. That is, a mustache or a beard on the face. Or using goggles. Or any physical changes on the face.

Intel said that the process of face registration in RealSense ID is very easy. No network or other setup is also required for this. In this technology, the user's face data is fully encrypted.
