The world's largest flower was discovered in Indonesia. However, this flower has survived only for seven days. It has been claimed, it was the first of a group of five flowers. This means that four more flowers are expected to bloom like this.



Its diameter is more than three feet or 117 cm. Due to which it is one of the largest flowers in the world. However, its smell is not good. We can say that this is one of the most interesting plants. No leaves or stem, no traditional roots, it is just a flower with petals.



Researchers studying the plant say that, it is the largest of its species ever recorded. This flower is named Rafflesia. Its lifespan is only for a few days, and this is the reason that even this flower has been able to live for only seven days.

About Rafflesia :

Rafflesia is a genus of parasitic flowering plants. It contains approximately 28 species (including four incompletely characterized species as recognized by Willem Meijer in 1997), all found in Southeast Asia, mainly in Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
