PS5 Pro: Everything You Need to Know
The PlayStation family is growing. Sony is getting ready to drop the PS5 Pro this holiday season, and it’s got some exciting stuff. The new console fits right into the PS5 lineup, working with all the current accessories.
That includes the PlayStation VR2, PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge, Access controller, and the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore headsets. So, no worries if you've already invested in all that gear.
The PS5 Pro will look and feel pretty much like the PS5 you know. The interface and online services won’t change. It's got the same UI and network setup, so you can jump right in without learning anything new. The big difference here is under the hood.
The Pro model is packing a 2TB SSD, so you’ve got a lot more space to download all those games and updates. It’s disc-less, though, but you can still grab the disc drive that’s available for the PS5 if you prefer physical games.
PS5 Pro: Everything You Need to Know
The console will launch on November 7, 2024. Preorders start on September 26, 2024, so you might want to mark your calendar if you're looking to grab one early.
The price? It’s set at $699.99 in the U.S., £699.99 in the U.K., €799.99 in Europe, and ¥119,980 in Japan. That’s definitely a bump from the original PS5, but with more storage and power, it might just be worth it.
Every PS5 Pro will come with a DualSense wireless controller and Astro’s Playroom pre-installed. That means you'll have something to play right out of the box, which is always nice.
Sony is giving players more options now. Whether you stick with the regular PS5 or go for the Pro, they want everyone to have the best gaming experience possible. It's up to you to decide which one fits your needs better. But with the PS5 Pro on the horizon, gaming is about to get even more exciting.
