As a self-taught designer, I’ve always struggled to overcome imposter syndrome, despite learning and improving. And, within the design content domain, I always loved the content but couldn’t connect with designers.
The Future of AI Logo Design
The problem with Midjourney or Leonardo AI logo design is that it is not scalable. Putting those designs through Canva would mess up everything quality-wise.
If you are making simple graphics for a local ‘Mom & Pop’ business fine. But be careful about handing over generic-looking AI-based stuff to a larger business. First of all, you will need a quality vector conversion. Nobody can use PNG logos professionally.
Auto-trace won’t cut it as it leaves hundreds of messy anchor points. Others working with your files will notice this and it screams amateur, which would be unacceptable to a client in the know. Also in general logo marks/brand assets need to be copyrightable and if the AI is pulling ideas from everywhere you should check for similarities in the same industry.
In thе US, copyright can bе obtainеd for AI-gеnеratеd work if thе final work is altеrеd from thе original rеsult. But this is still unclear in terms of branding and logos. My advice: use these for inspiration and a variety of ideas then redraw your own versions. But regardless, great demo and proof of concept.
