The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes | Trailer

Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe's tragic death spawned conspiracies and rumours for decades, often overshadowing her talent and shrewdness. By piecing together her final weeks, days, and hours through previously unheard recordings of those who knew her best, the film illuminates more of her glamorous, complicated life and offers a new perspective on that fateful night. Only on Netflix, April 27.

If people continue to talk about you six decades after your passing, then you are nothing but a legend. Very few have that honour. She defied the social constructs of her time. Yes, she was beautiful, but she was also very intelligent, very resilient, and multifaceted. People really tried to fit her into one box, but she never could. She wouldn’t. She inspired many people. Looking forward to this one, Netflix!

Netflix really does its best work in original documentaries. She's smiling with her lips but not with her eyes. Her eyes just couldn't hide the pain, but her smile could. Before even learning about her story and watching documentaries about her life, I could already tell something was wrong. Her eyes showed all the pain she'd ever been through. People always saw her as just a face, but she was so much more. Marilyn loved reading and made sure to read a lot. Marilyn was a smart and talented woman who was too good for the world, especially for us!!

I’ve personally never watched a single Marilyn Monroe documentary film/series so far, and that’s why I’m super stoked for this. I wanted to know more about her and how she became one of the most iconic Hollywood stars to date. She was gone too soon. Rest In Peace, Marilyn Monroe. May your existence be eternally remembered.

I love Marilyn. She was a deeply complex, brilliant, and very troubled woman. She was so ahead of her time and wanted so deeply to be loved and understood by a business that saw her as an object. I’m excited about this documentary, but I do hope they handled her and her legacy with love and care. She deserves nothing less after a lifetime of being exploited and profiting off of her. She just wanted to be adored, and hopefully Netflix respected her wishes while telling her story.
