Mayawati prohibits spokespersons from TV debates

Lucknow: Following the party's crushing defeat in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has barred all of its spokespersons from participating in programmes such as TV debates, among other things.

In a tweet on Saturday, the BSP chief claimed that the media used "casteist, hateful, and hateful attitudes to damage the Ambedkarite BSP movement" during the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. New responsibilities will be assigned.

As a result, he stated, all of the party's spokespersons, including Sudheendra Bhadauria, Dharamvir Choudhary, Dr. MH Khan, Faizan Khan, and Seema Kushwaha, will no longer participate in TV debates, etc. Significantly, in the 403 assembly seat elections, only one BSP candidate was victorious.

Mayawati's party is nearly extinct. The BSP has only one seat. A party candidate was elected to the Rasra assembly constituency in the Ballia district. The BSP trailed Apna Dal, the Nishad Party, and even the Rashtriya Lok Dal. In 2017, the BSP received more than 22% of the vote and won 19 seats. In 2012, it received 80 seats, and in 2007, it received 206 seats.

Mayawati is making the same mistake again, despite winning only one seat in Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Modi has broken free from the shackles of caste politics. In the elections, a new vote bank, the vote bank of development, was seen. However, Mayawati continues to blame her defeat on the vote bank of the castes, ignoring development and other issues.
