WhatsApp is developing new apps for Windows users
Technology News/Social Media : WhatsApp is developing new apps for Windows users (Windows 10 and Windows 11 to be specific). It is said to be a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) based app that has been developed from the ground up. Also, it is developing another app for macOS users that was spotted under the Apple Catalyst project.
The WhatsApp UWP (Universal Windows Platform, allows the app to be used on Xbox as well) will be designed in line with Windows 11, with semi-transparent panels. It will work even when it is closed, with notifications arriving as usual, and will take no longer than one second to start. Settings will be grouped in six categories - General, Account, Chats, Notifications, Storage, Help. The app looks a lot like the Skype one, but with some flat design elements and the traditional green color of the conversation bubbles. The app will have a drawing feature which will be very neat for devices with touch-screen displays, ALumia revealed.

The new WhatsApp Desktop application is presently in beta testing and can be downloaded for Windows 10 and Windows 11 via the Microsoft Store. WhatsApp web app can receive messages now without your phone being available. There can't be any technical reason a second phone couldn't do it. Besides that, the new WhatsApp Desktop beta software has a variety of new features, including privacy settings, notifications, storage, and more, that are also available in the mobile version.
WABetaInfo reports that the feature is a part of WhatsApp for Android beta release 2.21.23.15 and is meant to let you add a custom background, emoji, or a sticker to your group icon.
