Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who passed away aged 98 on Wednesday, was laid to rest with full state honours in Mumbai. His mortal remains were draped in the Tricolour while being taken for the funeral. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar visited his residence to pay their last respects.
Actor Dilip Kumar, who passed away aged 98, suffered from advanced prostate cancer that had spread to other organs, said a doctor, as per an Indian Express report. "He had water in the pleural cavity, and he suffered kidney failure. He required blood transfusion multiple times," the doctor stated, adding that the cancer spread made it difficult to treat him.
Singer Lata Mangeshkar took to Twitter to express grief over the demise of actor Dilip Kumar and wrote, "Yusuf bhai left his younger sister today. With Yusuf bhai, an era has ended." She also talked about actress Saira Banu who took care of Kumar for a long time and wrote, "Saira bhabhi left everything and served him day and night."
Recalling her experience of working with late actor Dilip Kumar, veteran actress Waheeda Rehman said that he was a great artiste. She added, "I was so small in front of him. But he never made me feel small." "He would quietly tell me how to do some of my scenes. I learnt so much from him," she said.
Actor Ranveer Singh has bought the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 worth ₹2.43 crore. It was launched in India last month. The actor also bought the Lamborghini Urus Pearl Capsule edition worth ₹3.43 crore earlier this year in May. He reportedly also owns a red coloured Lamborghini Urus that he had bought towards the end of 2019.
