Impact of stock market now on equity mutual funds

Business : The effect of the highs of the Indian stock market is now visible on equity mutual funds. Investors have invested Rs 5,988 crore in equity funds in the month of June. This is half as compared to the month of May. A total investment of Rs 10 thousand 82 crore was made in May. In the month of June, Rs 3,466 crore has been invested in debt.

It is worth noting that the money that comes in equity mutual funds is invested in the stock market. Currently, the stock market is at its historic high. So investors have withdrawn money to make profit. Debt means that your money is invested in FDs, corporate papers, government bonds etc. Fixed interest is available here.

Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) released the data on Thursday. Accordingly, equity funds have declined by 50% on a monthly basis. On the other hand, investors are investing money in debt funds. Small caps in equities have seen tremendous growth in the past few months. Rs 705 crore has been invested in small cap in June. 1,080 crores were withdrawn in May.

Rs 660 crore came in multicap fund in the month of June, while Rs 450 crore was withdrawn during the same period. Means a net investment of Rs 209 crore was made. Rs 3,795 crore was invested in large cap, but Rs 3,247 crore was withdrawn. That is, there was an investment of 547 crores. While Rs 800 crore came in net in large and mid cap funds, Rs 1,729 crore came in mid cap funds. Withdrawal of Rs 114 crore from Value Fund, Rs 569 crore came in Focused Fund. 1207 crore has come in sectoral fund.

791 crore has been withdrawn from Equity Savings Linked Scheme (ELSS). 1,087 crores has come in Flexi Cap Fund. A total of Rs 15,320 crore has been invested in the mutual fund industry in June. Whereas in May, an investment of Rs 38 thousand 602 crore was made. 6,273 crore has come in debt funds in low duration. An investment of Rs 6,318 crore has come in the floater fund.

4,460 crores were invested in overnight funds and Rs 2,078 crores came in liquid funds. An investment of Rs 1,357 crore has been made in Banking and PSU Fund. However, Rs 13,987 crore has been withdrawn from the money market fund.

Rs 2,439 crore has been withdrawn from ultra short duration. Rs 1,056 crore has been withdrawn from the short duration fund and Rs 538 crore from the gilt fund. Talking about the hybrid category, Rs 634 crore has come in the conservative hybrid while Rs 2,056 crore has come in the dynamic asset allocation. Arbitrage fund has the highest investment of Rs 9,059 crore
