Pinterest rejects Microsoft's offer of Rs 3.70 lakh crore

Technology : Image-sharing and social media platform company Pinterest does not want to go into anyone's hands. The latest evidence of this has been found recently when Pinterest rejected Microsoft's offer in which Microsoft tried to buy Pinterest. This was the biggest deal from Microsoft, but one of the Pinterest turned it away. Microsoft had offered $ 5,100 million, or about 3.70 lakh crore rupees to buy Pinterest, but they flatly refused. It also proved that Pinterest wants to operate as an independent company.

Why Microsoft was eyeing Pinterest -

Microsoft was really looking to build a portfolio of online communications on its cloud computing platform and was eyeing Pinterest for this but now the company has refused. Earlier, Microsoft had also tried to buy TicketLock, but it could not be done.

Although several media reports have claimed that negotiations between Pinterest and Microsoft have been closed regarding this deal, but it is not clear whether the CEO of Microsoft will attempt this deal in future.

Significantly, in the ongoing campaign against Google and Facebook in Australia, America's big tech company Microsoft has also joined. Microsoft President Brad Smith suggested that the US and other countries should also adopt media regulations such as Australia, so that tech companies are forced to pay the original publishers of the content. 

"I accept that this is a chance to coordinate good business with a good purpose," Smith said in an interview to a website. The Australian government is going to enforce the rule that the social media platforms that earn income from advertising due to posting newspaper and news websites on Facebook and Google, will have to pay a portion of the original content manufacturer.
