Social Media : The search for an alternative to foreign social media apps has been going on in India for a long time, although the search is still on. Koo App is being liked as an alternative to Twitter. The special thing is that now Union Minister of India, Piyush Goyal has also made his account on Koo App. Apart from Goyal, many other ministers have also started using Koo app. Significantly, Koo took part in the self-reliant India Application Challenge. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has talked about Koo App in the program as well.
What is Koo App?
Koo is a microblogging site, which has been introduced in the collision of Twitter. It is currently available in eight Indian languages including Hindi, English. Koo can be used both by app and website. Its interface is similar to Twitter. It has a limit of 350 words.
Koo has so far raised Rs 30 crore as part of its Series A funding. This funding is from 3one4 Capital of Mohandas Pai of Infosys. Koo has also previously received funding from Accel Partners, Kalari Capital, Bloom Ventures and Dream Incubator. The co-founder and CEO of Koo is Ameray Radhakrishna. Funding is very important for any startup or app. This is just the beginning for the Koo app. There has been a conflict between Twitter and the Indian government for the last several days. The government had warned Twitter that if it does not comply with the instructions, then there could be a fine or seven years in jail under the relevant sections.
