Silicon Valley : Tipalti raises US $150M
Business News : Silicon Valley-based Tipalti, a developer of software for middle market companies to automate manual accounts payable functions, raised $150 million in a Series E round. Durable Capital Partners led the financing, which set a valuation of more than $2 billion for the ten-year-old company.
Chicago-based Cooler Screens, a developer of interactive digital displays to replace glass doors in store aisles, raised $80 million in a Series C round backed by investors including Verizon Ventures, Microsoft’s M12 venture fund, GreatPoint Ventures and others. The company’s full-door ads are designed to only run when shoppers are at a distance.
Pittsburgh-based Abridge, developer of an app that connects people and their doctors, announced that it has raised $15 million across seed and Series A rounds. The startup’s aim is to improve patients’ understanding of their medical care and how to follow their doctor’s advice.
Home buying and selling unicorn Opendoor, posted a net loss of $118 million on $2 billion in revenue for the first half of 2020, as business contracted amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The disclosure, made in a securities filing, comes as the San Francisco-headquartered company moves closer to a public market debut through a merger with a blank check company led by tech investor Chamath Palihapitiya.
